DESCRIPTION:
Finesse your stage combat skills! For those with previous stage combat experience (unless otherwise noted), get a chance to use a variety of weapons and systems, or work on learning choreography quickly. Each session is drop-in (not in sequence) and open to any over 16 years old (except youth day) with previous stage combat experience.

Mindfulness Mondays

WHEN: Select Mondays 12-1pm

WHAT: Are you a creative professional in need of a quick mental and physical reset during your lunch break? These one-hour sessions typically include a

  • check-in
  • stretching or yoga
  • a movement activity from Viewpoints, Meyerhold’s Biomechanics, or another physical theatre approach
  • guided meditation
  • release work

Led by Dor Cosby Atkinson, adjunct theatre professor at UC Santa Cruz and Ohlone College. As a professional theatre director, teaching artist, and writer of children’s literature, she is passionate about supporting artists’ vitality and strengthening community. She has used mind-body practices in her work and daily life for 25+ years. Dor holds an MFA in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech focusing on Directing and Public Dialogue.
