WHO ARE YOU?
Ian Dyer is a local actor most recently seen in Misery at Actor’s Theatre and Midsummer Night’s Dream at MCT, and the director of Matt & Ben, the inaugural production from his company Good Egg Productions. You’ll see him next on the stage in MCT’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Josephine Czarnecki is a local director who is also known for fights & lights, designing lighting and fight choreo for Renegade Theatre, Cabrillo College, Actor’s Theatre, and MCT. She also directs youth and teen theatre for various companies, schools, and through the Santa Cruz Parks & Recreation program.
Scratch Studio is a collaborative effort, with the dream of making theatre (and performative) rehearsal space more affordable and available in Santa Cruz. Both Ian and Josephine are familiar with the age old question of where and when rehearsal space is available. They hoped to create Scratch as not just an empty room, but a community-minded idea where creators can both find their own space and cross-contaminate with others.
If you need a space but aren’t finding what you need at Scratch (special floors? unique equipment? a type of lighting or tech?) let us know, and we’ll see how we can best meet your needs.
